Letters from Home
Previous AFH adopters write these stories. They tell the stories of joy, sorrow, surprise, and – most of all – love that their new family members have brought to their lives.
If you would like to submit your own Letter from Home, please reach out to us via our Contact Us page or send an email to info@aforeverhome.org.

Odin (Stubby) Turned 4!
Today Odin (Stubby) turned 4 years old! Crazy how fast the time goes by. It seems like just yesterday we met this (then) little 8 week old spunky puppy with his foster siblings. He won our hearts over with his short legs and big attitude. Now he’s our big pup at 55 lbs. He loves camping, cuddling and saying ‘hello’ to everyone at Home Depot (his favorite place on Earth) Thank you so much A Forever Home for our wonderful fur baby ❤️ we are so blessed and grateful ❤️ Happy Birthday Odin and Scarlet’s other pups!
Jake (Duke)
It’s been a pretty epic 4 hour play session between Elwood and Jake and they are both finally worn out! Thanks again for everything.
Yoda (Hippa)
Our newest member of the family. Thank you!
Maya
Last April we adopted Maya. She has proven to be a great dog & is just one of the bunch here. We love her to bits!

Sweet Oliver
I adopted my sweet pup from you last Feb ❤️ Kristen and Oliver
Calvin – New Year’s Eve
Hi! I’m a previous adopter from 2017 (of Ralph of Ralph and Lauren – he’s now named Calvin).

Buster and Kermit
Hello, AFH! Our forever pups are doing great here in Florida. Buster (the blonde) is 10 and doing great, although his visits to the senior center as a hospice therapy dog didn’t agree with his sensitive skin so the vet suggested this nifty protective outfit. I can’t say he loves it. Kermit is 7 and still a hilarious curmudgeon. He is never without a toy in his mouth. He’s pictured here with his beloved bat from Halloween. Thank you for giving us these wonderful pups who have brought us so much joy!!!

Hattie (Flo) – Full of Energy
One year ago we were honored to adopt Hattie (aka “Flo”). She is such a sweet girl, and also very full of energy, which is great for her Agility training! I just wanted to let A Forever Home know how special this little girl is, how loved she is, and how blessed we feel. Here are a few pictures of her (she is the little red/white hound mix), from posing with her two “sisters”, Lottie and Zaina, to cuddling, laying in the sun, and in Agility class. Oh….and also a picture of the perfect heart on her side. Thank you again for this wonderful bundle of sweet energy!

Cleo and Kyla – Inseparable
Hi! Yes, we adopted Cleo (formerly Sabrina) through AFH in 2013. We actually have two AFH dogs so it took me a minute to figure out which one you meant. Here are some photos – Cleo is the black one. She’s very sweet and has been great with our kids. She loves to burrow and is always looking for something soft to snuggle into. As you can see, she is inseparable from our other dog, Kyla, who we adopted in 2012. Cleo is healthy and well-behaved (but she does like to bark!). The vet has warned us to keep an eye on her back legs because her long body puts some pressure on her hips. But so far so good. We hope your Mister Milton is also doing well. Cleo missed her siblings a lot when we first brought her home back in 2013! Best, Kim
