Letters from Home

Previous AFH adopters write these stories. They tell the stories of joy, sorrow, surprise, and – most of all – love that their new family members have brought to their lives.

If you would like to submit your own Letter from Home, please reach out to us via our Contact Us page or send an email to info@aforeverhome.org.

Jagger (Grunt)

I participated in the walkathon at Algonquin Park over the weekend…You guys do great work, and we lover our pup Jagger (formally Grunt – pics attached) we rescued with Aforeverhome.org. Thank you!!

Best Regards, Jared

Sparky (Pippi)

Hello,
Here’s a picture of our wonderful Sparky! He is so sweet, and his favorite thing to do in the world is to snuggle with us and play fetch! We take him to the dog park most days and he will fetch for about 1.5 hours – he loves it! He is so sweet – we can call him our gentle giant! Thanks for bringing Sparky into our lives!

Minnie (Angie)

We adopted Minnie (Angie) from you in November 2016. She has been an absolute love from day 1 and has grown up to be a really big and beautiful girl. We had a baby a few months after bringing her home and then adopted a tiny kitten 7 weeks later (we’re nuts!! But that’s ok) and she adjusted to the changes in the household so well. She loves to go for daily runs with me, and her sister (Belle is a corgi/Jack Russell) somehow manages to keep up. They are like peas in a pod. She is so good with our kids and is the best snuggler ever. She had the best foster parents and came into our home clearly well loved. We can’t thank you enough for our sweet “furry baby”.

The Gerosimo Family

Chloe

We adopted Chloe in May. She has settled into our routine and has made countless dog friends in the neighborhood. Chloe likes to go on morning hikes and swims.

She loves her brother Champ and likes to hang out with him in the yard watching the deer and squirrels go by 🙂

We love her!

Autumn (Nala)

Autumn (formerly Nala, adopted 10/1/17) and I stopped by the adoption event today to say hi. I know Marilyn and Tom, her former foster parents, aren’t able to make it out to the adoption events so I’ve included some recent pictures of her to be shared with them or anyone who would like to see them. She is a wonderful dog and is enjoying life with us and her cats. She absolutely loves to lounge on the couch with us but also enjoys our little day trips to places like Gettysburg, Manassas Battlefields, and Walney Pond or afternoons with friends and their dogs to local wineries. We are so blessed that she is part of our lives and we are thankful to AFH for saving her so we could adopt her.

Sincerely, Michelle

Natalie

We got our sweet Natalie from you all. I’ve attached a photo of her. 🙂

Henry – Very Happy Forever Home

We adopted our Henry, back in Nov 2009 from A Forever Home Rescue. Henry was an anxiety-filled little angel, fearful of the slightest of everyday noises. Patience, love, patience, love work miracles! Today, Henry is a marvel and such a brilliant companion! He’s the one that keeps “me” on schedule😍 Since December of 2009, he has lived in New Hampshire; The Hague, in the Netherlands; Stuttgart, and Oberammergau Germany, Michigan, and now, “our” forever family home in Arizona! He’s traveled to Paris, Saint Malo, the Alsace, Geneva, and was a true “local” in Cortona, Italy. Henry has traveled in cablecars to the top of the Alps, ridden in trains, Venetian gondolas, streetcars, and countless trans-Atlantic flights between Europe and the USA! His little life changed from a rabbit cage in Lebanon, Missouri to having his own European Pet Passport! What is important, is that Henry has changed the life of so many people!!

Thank You All for your kindness with these precious lovies
