Shep Litter Leo
Leo has a beautiful, chocolate and black coat. He is on the small side for a shepherd. He is very soft, cuddly and playful. Leo has a very calm demeanor. He is getting good training with his current foster. Leo is crate trained and sleeps thru the night and dry in his crate in the morning. He is potty trained and does all his business outside. He is doing well with long leash training as well as walking on leash. He knows basic commands such as sit, wait/stay, no, and come. He is friendly with all dogs and all ages of people. He is amazing with children - he isn't nippy at all. When he is happy he has puppy zoomies but quickly settles again. He does not beg for food or counter surf. He is great at outdoor eating venues. He only barks when he clearly needs something (to go out to pee, to drink water if not available). He waits at open thresholds (front door, crate door) until released - an important safety command. He plays nicely by himself with stuffies, balls and isn't crazy destructive. He is good in a car and has gone many places with his foster to get socialized. He has even been able to find his foster's car in parking lots! With training, he might be a good candidate to be a therapy or service dog or even search and rescue. Come meet him! The Shep Litter was surrendered to one of our rescue partners in Louisiana by a woman who claimed that the mom wouldn’t take care of them.
