Garth

My name is Garth and I came up to Virginia on a van from Alabama. Some of my friends were nervous when we got here but I wasn’t - I could tell right away that this was the perfect place to live. I immediately warmed up to my foster family and I feel like it is my job to keep them safe and watch out for them. I like to sit at the stairs of our deck or at the door and keep watch. I’m not the kind of dog that needs to be watched every minute or need to touch my people. I want to be close and I love getting kisses and rubs but I respect my people’s space as well. I live in my foster house with a 4 month old puppy from Alabama and we get along and play a lot. I worry about him when he gets scared or starts to whimper. And I live with kids and get lots of attention from the neighborhood kids too - they are all really nice to me and I let everyone come and pet me. I love going out in my backyard and can just lay down and enjoy the grass and the sun. I am very comfortable in my crate with a big blanket and I am good with walks and house training.
