Vincent
Hello, my name is Vincent. Notice anything about me? Yep, I’m missing an ear, just like that other famous Vincent – “Van Gogh”. I must say, life hasn’t been too good to me so far. It appears someone cut off my ear when I was very young. And then I was left at a dumpster when I was only 4 months old. Just like the painter, I come from very austere and harsh beginnings. But I do believe my fortune has changed now that I am in the AFH foster program. My foster Mom says I am very sweet and very smart. I am learning some manners and I’m already housebroken. I like everyone I meet, 2 footed and 4 footed. And I LOVE to play. Sometimes I play all by myself, but it’s so much more fun when there’s someone else to run and play with. Vincent is learning commands very quickly. He learned “Sit” and “Wait” after only 2 days in his foster home. He is pretty energetic, but then crashes for a nap in his crate. He has done very well with the neighborhood kids and he loves the neighbor’s female yellow lab. Vincent needs some more training so he can learn to calm himself down. He’s a bit clingy, but that’s to be expected with everything he’s been through, and I’m sure he will overcome his clinginess once he’s in a stable environment. He will make a wonderful addition to someone’s family and will make a good playmate for older (7 years and older) children. Vincent is listed as a German Shepherd mix, and I believe his mix is Husky. He has a very thick fluffy coat and a beautiful bushy tail that curls over his back. But the real tell-tale sign that he is Husky is his voice – he yowls and yips like a Husky. He currently weighs 36 pounds and I expect he will top out at about 50 pounds.
