Mastiff Stephanie/Bella

Bella came into the rescue with her litter mates as feral puppies. She was adopted out to a family who did not have a fenced yard and had difficulty keeping Bella on their property. She began to be a nuisance to the neighbors by barking and straying into their yards, so her owners returned her to AFH. Bella is a beautiful dog, about the size of a slender lab. She is intelligent and loyal. Bella retains some fear issues from her early days fending for herself, so she will need an owner who is willing to work with her to develop a strong relationship and build her trust. Bella would make a great companion for a single person, a couple or a quiet family with older (teenage) children. Due to her fears and insecurities, she really needs a quiet home with people she can rely on to make the world a safer place for her. She has a delightful, loving personality. Once she has bonded to you, she will be the best dog you could ever imagine. You just have to be willing to give her some time, guidance, rules and boundaries, before you shower her with love and affection.
