Hi! I am Gertie. I weigh about 25 pounds but I could stand to put on some weight. I think I am a collie/terrier mix. But since I was dropped off at a shelter with little information from the owners, we are just guessing my breed based on my looks. I had six of the most beautiful puppies that you will ever lay your eyes on! Four girls and two boys. They are heavens little angels. Then a terrible thing happened to us. Our owner dropped us all off at a high kill shelter in North Carolina. We were all scheduled to be to euthanized. Myself and all my beautiful babies. Can you even imagine such a thing? We are so lucky because these wonderful people at a place called A Forever Home came and picked us all up. They saved us from being euthanized. The rescue drove us all the way to Virginia and now we are safe in a loving foster home. I am the best mommy. I am so happy to be alive and that all my precious babies are with me. I am ultra, super duper sweet. I am fully house broken. I love affection and my tail is wagging at all times. My eyes are just a mirror to my soul. Look at my photos and you will see. I know that my babies will find homes before I do and that makes me so grateful. But I also want a home where I am loved and cherished. I will make the best companion. I need to finish nursing my babies and then get spayed so that I do not have any more babies. Please think about giving me a home.
