Mark your calendars for April 14th! That's the Sunday when the Waterboy Puppies (four girls and three boys) will be making their public debut at our regular Adoption Event. Born 2-7-13, these now eight-week olds are bouncy, pouncy, furry bundles of fun and love...and licks! Let's talk about their "heritage." Officially listed as Border Collie/Shepherd mixes at the W.Va. shelter from whence they came, presumably that knowledge came from someone who has some classified insider information. Border Collie? Yes, Rita has the classic facial markings of a BC -- and that's the end of that story! German Shepherd? Yes, several of them have that lush brownish tint to their fur, and the coarser feel to their coat of a GS. And that's about it. What is most observable to the eye and an educated guess is that there was definitely a Lab in the background...lots of Lab genes in this pool of puppies! Moma and Coach Klein are sleek and black with a little white trim. Bobby Boucher has more white trim, paws and chest. Rita has the BC face, and she and Captain Insano are the chunkiest of them all. There's not really a runt in this litter, but Farmer Fran is a little smaller, browner than the rest of them; Vicki Vallencourt is not quite so brown and has a white cross on her chest. All of them are energetic and playful but happy to snuggle down and settle in for a tummy rub. Want a sneak preview? They are currently being fostered at a private home in Gainesville.
