Hi, I'm Violet, and I'm one grateful little girl! I was found at a campground in a rural area and taken to the local shelter. The shelter people took good care of me, but they ran out of room for me and some other dogs. It was almost my time to go to doggie heaven, but the wonderful volunteers of A Forever-Home rescued me at the eleventh hour, and now I'm as happy as can be! I'm about one year old, I weigh about 15 pounds, and I'm a shorty! I don't know if dogs are on Ancestry.com, but if they are I'm sure that there is a dachshund in my family somewhere! I look like the famous movie dog, Benji, in the face, but my body is long and short to the ground. It's a winning combination for a beauty like me! I rarely bark, I'm mostly housebroken (just give me a little more time, please!), I love my crate, and I love playing outside, especially with my foster siblings. I can even do tricks! I love to play fetch, whether it's with a friend or by myself; I can throw the toy and catch it whenever I want! Feel free to rub my tummy anytime too, because that's my absolute favorite thing in the world! I get along with all people and dogs. Just look at the picture of me with my foster siblings. AFH rescued them too! I would be a great addition to any family, so please come visit me soon at my foster family's house or come see me at Petco on Sundays. Make sure you fill out the questionnaire on the AFH website and fax it in quickly because applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. I'm looking forward to going home with you soon. I promise to provide you with years of love and entertainment!
