Ol Red

Male (Altered) — Date of Birth: 08/27/2009 (17 years old (Senior))
Redbone Coonhound Mix
Ol Red isn't old at all...in fact, he's still a puppy! Only 11 months old, Red is a good natured, happy Redbone Coon hound. Although he has large, webbed paws, he's reached his max size of about 75 lbs. He has wonderful long ears, typical of a coon hound and a beatufil red coat (hence his name). Red, as we call him, is already neutered, house trained and crate trained, although he does so well out of the crate, his foster lets him sleep and enjoy the family room with her own dogs. Given that he's still a puppy, Red loves to play and enjoys lots of attention. However, living up to the Coon hound's image, he also loves to flop next to you and take long, lazy naps on the floor or front porch or near wherever you may be in the moment. Red doesn't chew things like many breeds' puppies, so although he's still technically a puppy, he's an easy one. The one area Red's foster has been working on correcting is Red's desire to hold your hand with is mouth - never a bite but slobbery and not how we want him to show affection (with loving mouthiness). Fortunately, he's caught on quick and rarely even tries to shake hands with his mouth anymore. In short, Red is a wonderful boy who will be a loyal companion to a lucky owner!
