Pit Bull Terrier Mix
Molly is a friendly 1.5 year old female pit bull pup. She was very timid and shy the first day she came to foster at my house but within 12 hours she was completely comfortable. She was also shy of leashes and riding in cars but has since learned that they take her fun and interesting places. She's good with dogs, cats, and kids. She's been friendly with every stranger she's met so far. She will let me take her toys, bone, and food bowl without fussing. She shows no signs of aggression at all. She likes to lick people but she isn't mouthy. Molly is a little fussy in her crate but she settles down after a few minutes. She has not had an accident in her crate since I got her. We are still working on being reliably house trained but she will often stand quietly by the back door if she needs to go, so she should learn quickly. Her bad habits are counter surfing and jumping up on people to greet/lick them, but obedience classes and consistency will help with that. She is learning to sit for pets rather than jumping, but sometimes forgets when she's really excited. She is pretty good about sticking to chewing dog toys but has been known to get other items (as young dogs do) if left unsupervised for long. She's had some understandable difficulty telling cat toys from dog toys and kid toys but is good about dropping them for you when you want to take them away. She is medium energy so will need some daily exercise and stimulation to keep her out of trouble. Molly would love to be in a home with another playful dog, but she would also make a great single dog too. She is still young and a little bouncy but with a little time and some basic obedience lessons, she will make a great family dog!
