Hi, my name is Layla. As you can see from my picture, I am a beautiful little girl looking for a home. The Fourth of July was truly "Independence Day" for me. That was the day I got to leave the shelter and go to my new foster home. My foster mommy says I am a very brave girl. Not only did I go to a new place, meet a new family, meet two big dogs and a cat, but there were fireworks going off all around me. That didn't phase me at all. I even sat on the driveway and watched the fireworks with my foster family. The two big dogs didn't join us....they were too busy hiding under tables inside the house! I wasn't scared at all because I was so happy to be out of that shelter. I'm not sure what my background is, but some people say I have beagle ears. I also have the long, thin face of a dachsund and the body of a skinny lab. Whatever my breed, I am a happy, confident puppy. I love people and I love playing with the other dogs that live here (even though they outweigh me by at least 80 pounds!) My foster dad says I'm very smart and the perfect combination of playful and relaxed. I hope you will come to see me at the adoption events or arrange to visit me in my foster home!
