German Shepherd Dog / Black Labrador Retriever Mix
We need a special home for a special pair. It is not often that Lab Rescue places a German Shepherd but Belle arrived with her lab friend, Anita, after their dad passed away. We would like to keep them together. Belle is a pretty five year old German Shepherd. Belle is sweet and affectionate and has many of the finest qualities of Shepherds, gentleness and loyalty. She loves to spend time with you inside or out, and loves to be petted and brushed. She is very easy going and easy to be around. She rides beautifully in car and is easy on leash. She is house trained and doesn't need to be crated. She can be left alone and has no destructive habits. When she came to us she has an inactive thyroid and was seriously overweight. We have her on medication and she is trimming down quite quickly. She is more alert, active and feels better. She has hip dysplasia but with her weight loss and medication she is doing well and it should not affect her longevity. She likes to walk around the yard, and enjoys playing and rough-housing with Anita. She loves toys and stuffed animals, and collects them. She enjoys picking up balls, too. She has spent time with a neighbor's male dog, and they got along well She would do better in a home that has limited stairs to get in and out. Anita is a pretty, energetic, and athletic, 4 year old Black Lab with a lot of personality. She is affectionate and loves to be with you. She has spent time with other dogs and does well with them. She is house-trained and doesn't need to be crated. She loves going for walks or rides, playing ball, racing around the yard or lying on your feet while you work on the computer. She likes to sleep next to your bed and will check on you during the night.
