Hi there potential families! Let me introduce myself. My name is Buddy. I'm a full-grown, purebred Beagle. I am an energetic guy who loves to go on long walks with the family with side trips to the dog park. I am very good in making ‘buddies’ with other dogs, and am good around people too. I am a happy-go-lucky dog always wanting to make friends and play. I have been introduced to cats and am slowly learning that they have claws and they don’t like playing doggie games. I’m still trying to learn that I am not supposed to chase cats, but once called off I will stop. I have been around kids before and love to play fetch and keep away, but I do suggest teaching youngsters not to tease me with food. I have one amazing nose and though I am learning I need to sit nicely before I get food I am still a pup and may forget myself and jump up to grab at the food. My prior family never took the time to train me, but these wonderful people at AFH have been working hard on getting me started on some basic obedience, but I still have a ways to go. I do ask for a family to continue with what I am learning, because it can be a lot of fun especially when I know I get a treat when I am good. What can I say, I love food. I am not quite house trained, but do know how to hold it for 8 hours. My foster mom keeps me on a very good schedule and I’ve not had too many accidents. I am crate trained and will stay quiet in the crate especially if you cover the cage. I just love a dark and quiet den knowing I will be safe.
