Dolly
Dolly is a sweet and resilient dog who should be available for adoption in early December. She arrived to Northern Virginia from the Charlottesville area where she was dumped at a shelter when she became pregnant. Since dad is unknown, we do not know how big her pups will be once they are grown. From the day she arrived she has been gentle and eager for love and affection, trying to be a 43 pound lap dog. House training and crate training have not needed to be addressed: no accidents and no crying in her crate! She has only barked twice: once with her first encounter with our African Grey parrot and once with a fox in the back yard. (She has subsequently become friends with the parrot.) She is wonderful with small and shy children, politely accepting their timed scratches. We are working on her leash skills; she loves to try to wander from one side of the street to the other. She is a gem and has acclimated herself quickly to her new situation.
Dolly had six beautiful babies on 9/12/2020. See her happy tail: https://youtu.be/_kZ697x5nZk
