Yule

Yule is a sweet little darling who appears to have been horribly neglected.  She arrived from Alabama in an emaciated state, almost completely blind from long-term untreated 'dry eyes', a mouth full of rotten teeth which will soon be removed, and matted fur which was infested with fleas. After two weeks, she has gained strength and weight and is now strong enough to enjoy short walks. With treatment, her vision is improving; time will tell how well she will see in a few months. She is also hard of hearing.  Her veterinarian suggests that the hearing may improve after her teeth are removed and the inflammation has subsided, but time will tell. Her temperament is perfect! She is totally accepting of the 'affection' of young grandchildren and is content to sit on your lap and receive affection.  She is also satisfied sitting alone. She is now sleeping through the night in a crate without a problem of soiling or crying. With her impairment comes advantages which make her a wonderful companion. She rarely barks. She's not afraid of thunder. She can't hear intruders or see deer or squirrels which need to be chased out of the yard! When taken on walks, she is perfectly behaved because she can't see the dogs who are approaching her. Since she is so small (less than eight pounds) she can easily be scooped up in your arms. She has been through a lot and deserves her Forever Home.
