Kaya
Kaya is a golden-doodle. She is a sweet, high-energy girl that loves people, dogs and cats too. Based on her paws and long legs she will most likely be taller than either a golden or a standard poodle. She didn’t have any housebreaking training or knowledge of how to walk on a leash when she came into the rescue less than two weeks ago. She is learning very quickly and now goes outside to do her business (though if you forget to let her out frequently she still has accidents inside). She is walking on a leash and does come, sit, down (most of the time) and is learning not to mouth. As personable and intelligent as she is I believe her potential in unlimited. She would be a wonderful family dog but certainly has the smarts to be a therapy dog or even a service dog with advanced training. She loves to play tug with other dogs but has just as much fun racing around the yard and wrestling with the big dogs. She even retrieves. Like most puppies she loves to chew but as long as she has appropriate chew toys she leaves everything else alone. She would require a lot more training, not just housetraining but also a good puppy kindergarten and obedience course to build a bond with her new owners.
