Foxy the Papillon
Heeeeeere’s Foxy! This 5-pound lady has a beautiful,
longhaired toffee and cream coat with a very showy plume of a tail. Her foster
mom sees her more as a Chihuahua in appearance and vivacious personality.
Typical of tiny breeds allowed to run the show, she initially came into the
rescue expecting to be served pheasant under glass and wanting to constantly be
on her designated person’s lap or carried about. Now, Foxy is discovering
healthy, nutritionally dense dog food options. She is learning that she can be
content lying in a bed on the floor and that spending time in a crate is not a
sign of punishment. Feisty Foxy gets along with the family dogs that tower over
her and initiates crazy games of chase with them! She is absolutely beside
herself when it’s time for walks and draws smiles and compliments from
passersby. Because of her size, she would do best in a home with adults or
families with older children who are mindful of her safety and well being. She
is housebroken and will stand at the door when she needs to go out. Her new
owners will respect the fact that Foxy is not an ornament but a dog first and
foremost, requiring frequent daily walks, stimulation, and training to realize
her full potential as a loyal companion.
