Lucy is a very smart, loyal shepherd mix. She was picked up as a stray when she was young, treated for heartworm (three months of being restricted to a crate) and then adopted out to a family. After a year, Lucy was returned due to behavioral issues (became protective of family and yard).
Lucy needs someone who understands dog behavior and is willing to take on a project. If you are looking for a house pet, Lucy is not the dog for you. If you are looking for a dog to be part of your life, a dog to work with, a capable dog, a dog to train and allow to be a "dog", then Lucy is your girl. She has been working with a trainer who is willing to show you how to properly exercise and maintain her manners.
