Sam

Sam was returned to AFH because two dogs were too much for her previous adopters. It was with a heavy heart that they had to return her, as she is a very sweet, loving, loyal girl. Sam originally came to the rescue last October and it was then we discovered that she was blind in one eye and pregnant. She delivered seven wonderful puppies in November and is definitely ready to find her true forever home.

Sam is a pure-bred border collie, with all the intelligence, enthusiasm and instinct the breed is known for. She would do best with a family that either does a lot of running/walking/hiking or is interested in dog sports. Sam views cats as an opportunity to show off her herding talent, and while she will listen to commands to not chase them, she can become extremely focused on their presence.

Sam walks well on a leash, gets along with other dogs and loves people. You are not going to find a dog sweeter than Sam….if you are looking for an active dog that you are willing to keep mentally and physically challenged, you are going to love her!
