Hound Mix

This gorgeous girl is a Hound mix, likely with Pointer or Setter.  She stands proud and regal; her long, lean lines, gorgeous brindle markings and brilliant, shiny coat remind you of the classic hunting dogs you might see at a country estate.  She weighs about 50 lbs and has very short fur.  She is sweet and submissive, and has had no problems joining the pack with our two 45 lb dogs.  She is loyal, following us through the house, always attentive to what we are doing, and seeks out affection, nuzzling with her head, looking at you with her big sweet brown eyes, and wagging her tail in appreciation when you pet her.  She is house broken, comes when called, and seems to prefer staying close to home.  She is also eager to learn -- she already knows how to sit and lie down, and is quickly learning the “shake” command.  She is active, but not so active that we feel like we need to be outside running and playing with her constantly.  She is happy to romp and play for a few minutes, then settle down and look out the window, cuddle or sleep.  She is very patient and sweet with all of us, including our toddler, who has poked her and pulled her ears and tail more than once.  Though she came to our loud household tired, hungry, sick and nursing 6 pups, we have never seen any antisocial behavior.  She has a wonderfully deep bark, and though she doesn’t bark often, she would bring any family a sense of security.  All in all, a wonderful dog.
