Hi!  Do you like to play?  I’m full of energy and love to play with chew toys and run after toys like crazy!  But watch out, if I scramble out the door, I’ll get on a scent trail of a rabbit or squirrel quickly and then my brain tends to ignore any verbal commands.  I don’t escape because I don’t like my home, I just get carried away with the smells.  I love going for walks, but my main interest is sniffing out scents, while my foster thinks I need to pay more attention to the walk more and sniff less.  But I am a beagle after all!  That’s my job and purpose – to sniff out animal smells and go after them with intensity! 

I also love affection.  I am quite the charmer and will cuddle with you and want to snuggle up on the furniture or in your lap, if you let me.  But if you don’t, please spend some time cuddling on the floor with me, and be sure I have a soft bed or two to curl up in.  I love belly rubs and to be caressed.  I will give you lots of love in return.

I’m mostly quiet, using my beagle howl only if there is an important alert, or when you first put me in my crate when you leave the house.  (I also am very suspicious of the vacuum cleaner and therefore I think it’s best to bark at it and try to attack it before it hurts everyone!)  Otherwise, I don’t find much need to ever be aggressive.   I am very curious, and love klennexes and such from the trash and to destroy wimpy toys . . . and anything that looks like a toy.  I love squeaky toys the most!  My foster is starting to keep some things out of reach, darn it!  I am really agile, so she better be careful where she puts things!

I hope to find a family or individual that will have time to love me, play with me and take me for exercise.  I consider myself very active and attractive.  Sometimes my curiosity and energy gets the best of me and other times I’m calm and relaxed.  I love attention.  I do realize when and where I should go to the bathroom, but once again, sometimes I get so distracted by all the interesting smells, that I don’t realize I’m outside for any other reason.  (So many smells and not enough time to check them all out!)  My foster says I'm very lovable and sweet.  Do you need a furry companion?
