Aspen is a very lovable and friendly dog. While still a little nervous with spontaneous noises he is becoming more and more comfortable with the noise level in our home. We have 3 children (one being a toddler), a dog and a cat. Aspen enjoys being petted and cuddled. As he gains trust, we notice that he really likes to be where we are; although he is perfectly fine most days sitting in the window, soaking up the sunlight. Aspen has found a new friend in our dog Punchy. He loves running around the yard with punchy (he still has not yet gotten comfortable with a leash). Aspen is fully house trained and barks to let us know when he has to go, or when he wants to play (with Punchy, not yet with people). He has just this week begun to come to me for petting. He seems to be a bit nervous when on his own at night and may bark to get your attention. Bringing his bed into the hall way where our rooms are helps to soothe him. Aspen definitely has a strong personality, which is emerging little by little. This is probably what makes him so resilient. Aspen would enjoy a home with another dog. He is very comfortable around Punchy. He seems to stay a way from the cat, as is the smart thing to do :). Aspen is a great dog and would make a wonderful addition to any home. Our family is truly enjoying having Aspen with us.
