Hello, my name is Geena (like the actress Geena Davis). I am a very loving and affectionate dog and my favorite thing to do is snuggle near my humans and put my head on their shoulder or in their lap, wag my tail, and sniff things. I am very curious about happenings inside and outside of the house, and I love to run around in the yard and chase squirrels. I have attended obedience training classes and I know sit, down, stay, and heel. I am very good at sit and down but I need to practice stay and heel some more. My obedience trainer would love to speak with any potential owners about what kind of obedience training works best with me, and I definitely need a home where someone has time to practice with me so that I get really good at my commands. I have a lot of energy and love to go on walks, runs, and to the doggie park. Because I have so much energy, it is very important that my owner has the time to exercise me or has another dog that I can run around with outside. Also, I would be best in a home without small children so that I don't accidentally run into them. Like most Basenjis, I like to run after interesting things that I see and I've got very long legs and can jump high so if I'm left alone in the yard it needs to be fenced in with a fence at least 3 feet high.
