Bozey is an energetic, happy and playful hound mix. Once you get the adoring brown eyed stare from this guy you are hooked. He bonds very quickly to his "pack" and is an extremely vigilant watch dog. When outside he can run at amazing speeds so would do best with a fenced in yard or enclosure. He plays with a 110 lb mastiff breed puppy in his foster home and has great fun running circles around her and playing tug. Meeting other dogs requires proper introductions and he initially tends to find smaller dogs less intimidating. He likes children but because he is so tall, he would not do well with small children who can easily be knocked over. When inside he just wants to be wherever you are, but he is crate trained and spends his day there when his foster family is at work with a break for a walk in the middle of the day. Professional training has taught him his basic manners such as sit, stay etc and his forever home will want to be consistent and enforce those commands and proper dog etiquette. He thrives on consistency, routine and calm confident owners. Some "city" noises such as buses and trucks make him nervous so a quiet suburb or country setting would be ideal.
