Want a bundle of total loyalty? Want to give a very sweet dog a chance to really be the best girl she can? Missy needs a home in which she can be the only dog, one where she is cherished and hugged and appreciated for the playful, loving and smart dog that she is. She's 25-30 lbs, lean and lanky, and five years old (just hitting her prime). (In the picture with two dogs, she's the dog on the right...same size as a beagle but taller and lankier.) Before Missy was rescued four years ago, she was terribly beaten and abused--but her strong and determined personality kept her alive and fighting for life. In her first foster home, she started coming alive and was adopted by a young woman who loved her dearly...but got married and could not continue to give Missy the attention and playtime, time to walk and run, and time to snuggle that Missy was accustomed to receiving. With a new husband (and baby on the way!), her adopter changed life too drastically for Missy, and Missy reacted by hurting herself trying to escape from her crate. For her safety, she was returned to her first foster, where she lived for the next two years. But there are too many other dogs and she is getting picked on to the point where her safety has again come into question. She is in Level II Agility for the Fun of It and does very well with the challenge--which she needs to keep her mind active. She's starting to hit her stride and has FUN!
