Blackjack is a sweetheart of an old girl. She was raised with kids and a cat and liked the cat just fine. Her current foster has four kids myself (ages 4 to 16) and she's fine around them. She loves a good scratch on her back end above her tail. Despite coming to us severely overweight, she's lost a lot of weight and, as a result, has become a lot more active. When we first got her, she couldn't do stairs too well due to her weight...now she goes up and with out a problem. She's started to romp a bit with the one year old puppy in her house, but she really prefers a good walk to the rambunctious antics of the puppy. When she sees the leash, she lines up by the front door, ready and eager to hit the sidewalk. She never pulls, just walks beside her foster mom. As for habits, Blackjack barks when she wants in from outside and occasionally will bark to go out but usually she just stands by the back door. She knows sit and stay and lie down quite well. She has a favorite green and white blanket she lies on much of the day. She is completely housetrained and can hold it easily while her foster mom is at work for up to 8 or 9 hours when the kids are not home to let her out. She's sweet and has a lot of love to give. When she first came to us, her tail never wagged and she seemed almost melancholy, but that has changed. Her tail wags often now.
