Speckles

Female (Altered) — Date of Birth: 10/28/2007 (18 years old (Senior))
Jack Russell Terrier Mix
Ok ok...so they say Speckles is a Jack Russell mix of some sort. To be more blunt, she's just a plain old Heinz 57 mutt. She could be just about anything but yes, given her energy level there is probably some JRT in there. But remember, she is still a pup--only 14 months old. All dogs are high energy at that age. She's definitely not a couch potato so will need a family who is willing to walk and run with her or take her to the local dog parks. She's crate trained, housebroken and knows to sit and lay down. She is still learning all the other manners that a good mature dog needs. In particular she needs to learn to be less mouthy and not as protective of humans but those lessons will come in time with a committed human working with her. Given the mouthiness it's probably best she not go to a home with small children. But she really is very sweet, gets along with the other dog in the house, is good about getting in the crate, is not yappy, loves toys but is not destructive to them – see all those positives? And talk about personality, she has plenty of that! She's really a fun dog. She's about 20 pounds, approximately beagle size and shape. The adoption events are overwhelming for her - especially now that they are indoors. It's just too many dogs and people. As her foster I'm happy to meet you independently of the adoption events as I think her true personality will shine through. If you meet Speckles one on one I think you'll love her.
