Chloe, Newhart, Sambuca, Nina, Josie and Zeus came to us from the Fairfax County shelter. They were born approximately June 11, 2008. They had a very rough beginning to life, apparently losing their mother, a German Shepherd, at the tender age of 3 weeks, and ending up in the Fairfax County Shelter, malnourished and dehydrated, at only 5 weeks of age. Then, while the Shelter scrambled to save them, the first three went one direction, to a temporary foster, and the second three to another. But they are all together again, under one foster roof -- (well, not Newhart; someone took one look at that beautiful color and he's already found a Forever Home) -- and thriving!! Chloe and Sambuca are almost twins. They are both Black Lab-looking, with a just little white design on the chest. If you catch them in just the right light, and look really carefully, Chloe is maybe a shade blacker than "Buca," who has a little more dark brown. Chloe is still playing catch-up with her weight, but "Buca" is a chunk!! Both these long-legged girls are frisky, scrappy and playful. Nina, Josie and Zeus are beautifully German Shepherd marked and, whereas they are still recovering from their shaky start in life, they have all recently turned the corner and are rapidly catching up -- but still only about half the size of their big sisters. In fact, we're thinking of re-naming Zeus "Butterball," he's gained so much weight in just the past week! These three are now totally enjoying life, romping in the grass with their bigger sisters and spending the rest of their time eating, sleeping and chewing on things...These babies have overcome a really, really difficult start in life and are ready to bring joy and happiness to someone who will appreciate their efforts to survive and thrive as they are doing...hope you will open your hearts to one of these deserving puppies. Zeus is the last of his litter. All of his siblings have gone home and Zeus says that it is his turn now!!!
