Dear Jodi, Jen, Carmen and everyone at American Bulldog Rescue and A Forever Home Rescue, I just want you all to know that we think of you, marvel at your dedication, and appreciate (more than words could ever express) the role that you take in demanding a better life and giving a voice to animals in need. Two years after Hurricane Katrina my heart still breaks for what Gracie and her owners went through. I can't imagine that a dog so loving and sweet could have been owned by anyone who did not truly love her, and provide for her as best they could. After hearing the stories of the devastation that occcurred in New Orleans during that horrific time, I can only imagine that they left her, without a doubt, thinking they would be returning home to her in no time. It is so sad to image what may have happened to them, their home, and their life. The only shining moment is all of you, and what Gracie has become since then. Before Gracie, I was fortunate enough to have a dog, who truly was my best friend, for 13 years. When she died I was devastated and just truly could not function, I knew quickly that I wanted (needed) to help a dog in need; never in a million years did I expect a dog that would instantly turn my house back into a home. People always tell us how good we were to adopt her and how lucky she is ...Gracie is the good, and we are the lucky. Gracie is an amazing soul, and we adore her more than I ever imagined possible. We would do anything to keep her safe, warm, happy and confident of her surroundings. She is a blessing, and we love her more and more every day. She is an absolute joy, and we are so thankful to have her, and all of you. Please know that your dedication has given this big girl a home that could be no better, she is the Princess that she deserves to be. Gracie is sending donations to both rescue groups so you can continue to mend broken hearts ...human, canine and more...
