Hambone
Hambone came to AFH with his buddy Rocky when their owner died and the family had no room for them. Hambone was very brokenhearted for awhile but over time he warmed up to his foster family and now he is always at the door to meet his foster mom with a happy wagging tail and a shoe/sock/ball/ or toy to share. He brings "gifts" to people coming into the house when he is excited to see them. Hambone is very laid back and nothing seems to bother him (except the vacuum). He doesn't seem to have issues with kids, other dogs, cats, or even horses!He loves to be brushed/combed, so much so that when he sees a comb or bush he rolls onto his side so you can brush his belly right away. He is a sweet gentleman. He loves food! When he came to the rescue he weighed a whopping 53 lbs. He is down 13 lbs but he has about another 10 lbs to go. Despite his size he LOVES to play, fetch being his favorite. Although inside he will bring the ball back to you if you ask him to "Bring me the ball", outside it is about a 50/50 shot of him bring it to you, sometimes he will bring it most of the way and wait for you to come get it or simply he will find the ball and sit beside the it as if you say, "Here it is."
