Finding forever homes for dogs in need
Cookie is a warm loving girl who gains more confidence each day. Can’t wait to become a part of your family.
Petunia is a pure-bred boxer landed at a shelter in North Carolina as a stray. Both of her eyes had a condition called cherry eye which required surgery to correct. The surgery was a complete success and she could not be happier. She is an awesome girl who is great with people and kid friendly. She is gentle, very sweet and playful. She is an active girl and loves playing in the backyard. If you like boxers, you will love her!
Walker is a big, loveable boy that enjoys playing. He enjoys people and other dogs. He has never met a stranger and is just a big, loving lug. You could not ask for a better dog!
Faye is such a loving, playful girl. We can’t figure out why she keeps getting over-looked! Meet her and fall in love!
These lucky dogs now have a forever home!
May your Valentine’s Day be filled with love and warm puppy kisses!
Dear AFH: Another update from Trevor aka Baxter adopted in 2014. Trevor is a versatile boy. Most recently he earned the distinction of being the very first dog worldwide to earn the International Dog Parkour Association’s Gap Jump Level 1 Dog Parkour Specialist title (PKD-GJ). We are so excited and are steadily working on the next level to see how far we can go. Anyone interested in checking out this exciting sport can go to their website dogparkour.org and read up on it. There is also a very helpful group on Facebook “Dog Parkour Training,” which encourages handlers to help each other, reviewing each other’s videos, and answering questions from newer members. Thank you all for allowing us to share.

A Forever Home was blown away by a $5,000 donation from Rosenthal Automotive’s initiative called Rosenthal Cares. Our Jessica Miltenberger was on hand to accept the check and we are truly grateful for this incredible generosity. AFH is glad to partner with Rosenthal to give the gift of Forever Homes and Forever Love to needy dogs and pups. We look forward to partnering with them again in the future!
We just published our August 2022 newsletter. In this issue we are happy to begin celebrating our 20th year in existence. Happy Birthday AFH! We also highlight the Davis Team for their Happy Hour fundraiser, Mary B. who was the big winner of the 50/50 Raffle, and volunteers Stephanie Osmani and the wonderful Owens Family. Also, don’t forget to check out Luke the Rescue pup by Dr. Simi, our In Memory page, Mama D and Gomez, and read about why dogs tilt their heads when we speak to them.
If you would like to be added to our Newsletter Mailing list, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Forever Home Rescue Foundation has saved many thousands of abused, neglected, abandoned, and unwanted puppies and dogs over our 20 years of operation. As you know, vet care is expensive, and prices continue to rise. You can support A Forever Home in their mission by simply feeding or pampering your best friend(s). Here’s how:
- Visit www.pawTree.com/marybeth
- At the top of the page, click “Pet Profile” (on the far right) and create a profile for your pet(s). Based on your answers, pawTree will give you suggestions for your furry friend – and you can also just browse the website to find items.
- When you fill in your name, make sure you add AFH behind it (e.g., “John Smith AFH”). This will guarantee that A Forever Home will receive 25% of every purchase you make.
- Everything at pawTree is 100% money-back satisfaction guaranteed, so if your best friend doesn’t LOVE everything you have purchased, simply call the company, and your money will be cheerfully refunded.
- Because your profile will be linked to AFH, A Forever Home will continue to receive donations every time you make a purchase.
Hello everyone, Someone passed his level one doggy training.
Cheyenne found a wonderful new home after waiting so long to find a loving family. We will miss her but know that she has the best forever home!
We just wanted to thank the Davis Team of CrossCountry Mortgage in Sterling Virginia for their donation of $5,300! They held three Happy Hour that benefitted A Forever Home Rescue. Their happy hours had raffles and give-aways, and they allowed our dedicated volunteers to also present information about our rescue. We are so grateful for their generosity! This will go a long way to help our dogs with major medical needs get the care and love they need.
Good Day, It is with much sadness that I let you know that our sweet little Tia went to the Rainbow Bridge (a few days ago) on Friday, May 22, 2022 to wait for us. She was an amazing dog. I want you to know she had an amazing life. She was 18 years old. She was like a child to us and we heaped so much love on her every single day and night. She returned just as much love to us. Our hearts are breaking and we don’t know how to deal with the pain. We cried for 8 days prior to her passing when we realized we needed to let her pass away. She passed with my spouse and I with her as well as the sweet doctor and nurse that had tended to her since she became ours 17 years ago. Thank you for saving her and her pups…. I hope their lives have been as wonderful and they were loved like we loved Tia.
With so much admiration and thanks to AFH! Thomas and Eric
