Naming the company after his mother, Anna Mae, the first bag of Annamaet was sold on her birthday in 1986. Rob possesses a unique combination of a broad scope of knowledge in the field of nutrition as well as a lifelong involvement with dogs to bring a special contribution to today’s petfood industry. With Rob’s wife, Mary Jo as co-founder and Vice President, Annamaet prides itself on being a family-owned company. We are not only responsible for feeding your pets but our very own and for that reason, Annamaet continues to ensure the peak of pet nutrition!

Rob Downey, the owner and formulator of Annamaet Petfoods, has dedicated his life to performance dogs. From competing in field trials as a kid in Northeastern Ohio with German Shorthair Pointers to winning the 2008 Limited North American Championship Sled Dog Race in Fairbanks, Alaska, Rob has spent his life working with canine athletes and working dogs. Annamaet is named after Rob’s mother Anna Mae and is pronounced like the verb “and-I-mate”.
