Dear diary, day three at this strange place. There are a lot of smells inside and outside. At first I was so scared the lady had to climb in the crate to get me out. She let me rest a lot and only made me go out twice a day to sniff the yard. I did not go to the bathroom because I just was too scared. I have been eating good though. This morning I decided the people here are not too scary. I tried not to show it but my tail wagged without me. We went out in the yard and while the other dogs played I watched and then I went potty! That was great I’d been waiting. I even walked around the house some and got pets from the big guy who lives here before I decided to go lay in my crate. They leave the door open when they are inside so I can hide when I want. I think maybe people are okay. I sure like when they rub my ears. Foster diary: it took just over 36 hours for her to finally go potty but she’s doing so great. Shiloh has had no accidents. She likes having her crate. Today she actually moved forward for me to take her out and her tail wagged. She is doing great on a leash. She will be a great leash walker in time. So far she has had the cats, the parrot, and my dogs come near her and she has had no reaction at all. Not even overly interested. I think she will do just fine in a multi pet home. Shiloh has smelled the air near the barn and seems to think all the chickens and turkeys and goats smell pretty good but she otherwise ignores them. I’m not sure how her personality will change as she feels more trusting but I’m confident by nature she’s just a quite sweet little thing. Like my previous rescue beagle who spent a lot of time alone in the woods she’s very quite. So far not a sound out of her.
