Hound Mix
I am Lacy, a hound mix. I traveled to Virginia from Mississippi where I was rescued from a hoarding situation. I was a new mama with 7 beautiful pups that have all found their forever families thanks to AFH. My foster family says I am an attentive, trusting, and loving pup. They laugh at me when I showed a few of my own hoarding instincts on one of my first walks after arriving here. I picked up a Sunday newspaper and proudly carried it the entire walk bringing it back for my babies. The next day I noticed a stack of clean towels close to our crate and decided it was time to get some fresh linens. I now know that I will have all the food and care I need so I've decided to let others do these things for me, I no longer need to gather the necessities. Although no one knows exactly my previous situation I have impressed my foster family with my leash skills; I don't dart after squirrels and deer. I love meeting other dogs and their humans big and small, and I always take care of my business when I'm out being walked. My humans praise me for being crate trained and housebroken, what's the big deal? I just want to please. Now here's my sad news, when I went to be spayed the vet told my fosters that I tested heart worm positive. I am being treated now. I am hopeful to find a loving family that will be ready for me in a few months to give me my forever home. I can't wait to just be a pup, play, take walks, hikes, run, play fetch, chew on bones and snuggle with the family that loves me.
