Paul is a lover boy! He bonds with his human very quickly, and always looks for petting and affection. Paul is very good with children and other dogs, but because of his size, he would do better in a home with older children. Paul came up from Beaumont, TX. It's clear that he didn't get much attention or exposure to the world, everything is new to him. I suspect that's why he bonds so quickly with people; he just loves to be loved. He's a quick learner and has already mastered the stairs. He rides well in a car, is learning to walk nicely on a leash, and has already learned to sit on command. He's doing very well with his housebreaking as long as he's kept on a schedule. I believe Paul is going to be an AWESOME dog for someone who has the patience to work with him. He's enthusiastic about learning, he just needs guidance on how to behave. He has not been around water, so I don't know if he will swim. He likes toys and shows a lot of promise for becoming a retriever. Paul is very eager and curious about cats, so we're going slowly with the introductions to my cat. He's very skinny, but his appetite is very good, so once he fills out, he will be beautiful! Paul has the most gorgeous, soulful gold eyes and stares longingly at you while being petted. He will melt your heart with his deep stare!
