German Shepherd Dog Mix

Annie is a wonderful female German shepherd who came to AFH from a life of being tied to a tree in her owner's yard. During the coldest winter weather that stretched all the way to Kentucky, she was able to keep her newborn puppies alive and fed. They made the trip to Virginia with their mother. This may have been Annie's first litter as she is young herself. She easily weaned her pups, and they have been adopted. Annie is now crate trained and quickly learning the rules of the house and the pack that lives here.  She minds and respects her pack leader, me, and gets along with the other dogs she lives with. She does not bark at home.  She listens well and has learned basic commands. We are still working on her excitability when she sees a deer or squirrel or other dog. She desperately wants to play with them.
