Jewel/Molly

Female (Altered) — Date of Birth: 04/01/2011 (13 years old (Senior))
Terrier Mix
This is Molly. First, let me say that Molly has no idea that she is a little chunky so please don’t say anything about it. She doesn’t need to know. She is absolutely the sweetest, nicest, best-trained old lady out there. Her fur is so soft and she loves pets. She loves kisses too and will give them out freely after she knows you for a minute. She is a little sad right now because she was very attached to her owner who passed away. Suddenly, one day, she just wasn’t there. Molly checked with her brother Max and Max was just as confused and sad. Worse still, shortly after their owner passed, they ended up at the pound and had to spend the night. Luckily, we got word and since they were both originally adopted from us, they were picked up and brought to their foster. They were homeless with just their beds and a duffel bag of assorted leashes. Molly is ten years old and has had quite a bit of training. She is house-trained, goes to bed when you tell her, knows a bunch of commands (but since she can’t tell us what she knows, we are guessing & trying) and politely takes treats from your hand (although maybe more carrots and less beef). Their first night out of the pound there was a thunderstorm and, it turns out, they are both scared of thunderstorms. They both crawled up into one lap. Molly laid on the legs and Max sat on Molly with his head on the foster’s shoulder. Molly runs like she is a puppy and Max stays right with her. When she drinks, her head bobs up and down, and her ears flop. It is so cute on the slightly chunky old lady. Many people don’t consider adopting older dogs, but she deserves to live out her time in a kind and loving home and she would make an adopter’s life the better for it. (And Max, too!)
