Dusty

Male (Altered) — Date of Birth: 03/13/2010 (14 years old (Senior))
Miniature Pinscher / Chihuahua Mix
When I was in the kill shelter, I didn't even have a name, just the letter D and a number. The good people at AFH rescued me and my foster family named me Dusty. I am just happy to have a name and a family to love. At only seven weeks old, my personality can be summed up as: Puppy. My favorite activities include eating, sleeping, and playing and I have been known to attempt at least two of these at the same time.

My records list me as a mix of Beagle and Chihuahua. I don't know who my parents were, but my fosters say that this does not sound right. They think that I am more a mix of Minpin and maybe a German Pointer. All I know is that I'm a pure-bred rescue dog. I don't think I'll be really big, my paws aren't exactly saucers, but I could be 30 pounds or thereabouts. I don't know about this growing up stuff as I am having too much fun being a puppy. I love to play and chase things and I am able to carry a huge tennis ball all by myself! I am starting to come when my name is called and for some reason my fosters seem happy that I tend to do my "business" on pieces of newspaper. I guess they are easily impressed.

I am a healthy, happy, dog. I just want a home where I can be loved and can love back. I have not been around cats yet but I get along great with my foster's big dogs. I think they are also impressed with me, because they can't ever catch me after I pull their tails. I don't bark at night and once the lights go out, I sleep through the night. Well sometimes I get up for a snack and to check out the latest newspapers. But I am a quiet dog when alone. However, when I see you in the morning, I am happy to see you. I think I would be happy in any sort of active family. I am a good dog. Would you like me as your "forever dog"?
