Rusty the Manchester

Male (Altered) — Date of Birth: 06/12/2007 (18 years old (Senior))
Manchester Terrier Mix
Rusty is a very young dog (1.5-2 Years). He is housebroken and crate trained and full of energy (loves to play)...he is very comfortable exploring the back yard all on his own. He is usually the last one to come in from the back yard, but once he notices we have all gone it I will find him at the back door waiting. He is quite the "copycat" when it comes to doing what the other dogs do...he has seen my "Ruby" jump up in my arms (using the "Ruby-UP" command) and he has mastered that "trick"...but for him; I say "Rusty-UP." He is quick to come when I call he and is quick to respond when corrected. He knows the command "Off" but I do have to remind him quite often not to jump up on folks. He is just a ball of energy and he would really do best with someone who is looking for a dog go on long walks and who likes to play outside a lot. Right now the only problems that we have had (and things are starting to look much better now) are "marking in the house." However, this maybe primarily b/c he was not neutered (nor was his foster brother) when he first came to the house. He never used the house as a bathroom, but if he would have a disagreement with another dog and you could bet money he was going to "go mark" something and lately he has been much better about "not marking." Hopefully he is finally "getting it"...LOL. Walking on a leash is not Rusty's best quality either, he needs work with regards to leash walking. Rusty is a very young dog that needs a strong, but gentle hand to give him the guidance he so very much wants/needs to be the best dog he can be. Rusty is a "true" diamond-in-the-ruff. If you would like to meet/greet Rusty at his foster home, please use the email below to set something up.
