Yellow Labrador Retriever / Labrador Retriever Mix

Goldie appears to be a purebred English Lab (shorter, stockier, and more compact than the American version) who must have been someone's pet at one time. She is crate-trained, housebroken, and good with people. She walks well on a leash when her foster has her on a "prong" collar, as she automatically settles into the proper heel" position without pulling or tugging. She is not noisy or food-aggressive, and has played well with the young children to whom she has been exposed. We are teaching her how to greet other dogs when on leash, as it is clear that she has not been properly socialized with other dogs-although she has adjusted well to the many (and varied!) dogs in her foster's home. For her part, she is really trying hard to learn, as she wants to hear us praise her as a "good dog" and wants to receive our affection and treats. She's a happy girl with no real issues, just a dog in search of a good leader who will help her be the great dog that she is.
