Golden Retriever Mix
Hi, I'm the foster mom, for the golden retriever boy mix rescued from the Prince George's Animal Shelter. I'm calling him Bud, because he reminds me so much of the golden in the movie "Air Bud!" I'm not certain how he ended up at the shelter, but I think it was due to neglect and his former owner was prosecuted. He was led into the shelter's "euthanisa" room, simply because "his time was up." The staff loved him so much, no one came in to do the nasty deed and they called AFH for the very first time!! Now, Bud and his buddies rescued from the shelter are all safe and in foster care until adopted. He is a non-stop tail wagging sweetie and definitely deserves a loving forever home! Bud is high energy, very loving, smart, strong, submissive and wants to please. He loves to play with my Tori, the collie girl I adopted from AFH, and the abundance of toys here. I don't think he'd ever seen a doggie toy before! He's shown no food aggression or any other fear based issues from his unfortunate past. And, no excessive barking (unlike my girl!) nor any nipping, biting or chewing on anything but toys. Bud is an extremely happy dog, but needs obedience training to learn basic commands and how to better interact with humans. He gets very excited with new people and jumps up to greet and get cuddled. As I said, he's strong, so he probably doesn't (yet) belong in a house with small children or small dogs. He is not crate trained, but has been sleeping through the nights, without accidents, in my bedroom. A playmate like Tori would be oh so nice, as would a fenced yard in which to run and chase balls (a favorite, along with good belly rubs!) We're working on come, lie down, and retrieving. He's quite a fast learner. Bud is simply an incredibly beautiful, wonderful and friendly golden (bordering on reddish) mix boy. To meet this boy, please come to adoption and see if this boy is the right dog for you.
