Carolina's Pups

(Altered) — Date of Birth: 08/01/2007 (17 years old (Senior))
Hound Mix
Looking more like their (most likely) black Lab dad than their coonhound mother, these youngsters have survived more in their three months of life than most dogs experience in a lifetime. Born in the Nicholas County shelter and rescued in a shelter mix-up when they were three days old, Carolina's pups all had parvo when they were seven weeks old (of the original 11, nine survived). Now healthy and full of bounce and play, these youngsters show the best characteristics of their breeding. With calm temperaments and reasonably quiet, they are learning how to use puppy pads and share their toys and chewies. They are great with people and children as well as with other dogs. Charlotte has a wonderful way of yodeling a question. Durham is the self-appointed puppy pack spokesman. Myrtle is playful and impish, but snuggly and happy to be held. Lenoir is the smallest of the group, always ready for a hug, a lick, and a snuggled hug. Ashley and Florence like to play with their brothers, but don't mind waiting quietly while you're eating to see if they can't con a treat or two. They also think that being picked up and hugged is a wonderful part of life. Cary is the largest and most laid-back-he likes to sit quietly and chew his chewie while the rest of the puppy pack romps. He's happiest when he's being held. Raleigh and Jackson are fun and full of life, always part of the six in a group that moves as a single unit, but then always jostling to be the first to be held and hugged. It's most likely that they will be no taller than their mother and in the 60-70 lb range when full grown (although the boys may be somewhat stockier, especially Cary). They will make wonderful family pets as well as jogging partners for active singles.
