Hi! My name is Roo, and I am a 1 year old Chihuaha mix about 6 pounds. My foster mom thinks I am housetrained or very nearly so. I have only had one accident since she first brought me home, and I have been caught marking a few times, but this should clear up as soon as I get neutered. My foster brother and sister taught me to use a dog door, while my foster mommy is encouraging me to scratch on the door when I need to go out. I have not had any problems since. I also appear to be crate trained, though I do no like being in there when there is no one around. I play very well with other dogs and seem to enjoy the game of fetch/keep-away with my foster mom. I leave my foster kitty alone, so much so I run away from her when she is near. I can be a very good playful dog one moment and the next be very sweet and affectionate. I am not sure how I will be with kids, but my foster mom thinks I should be okay with children older than 7 as I do have a tendency to mouth hands. Not to hurt, but just that I have not been taught any better. My foster mom noticed that I do not like it when I cannot be near my family all the time. With training, a strict schedule, and good time-consuming toys, I should be okay if you were to leave me for awhile. I am a smart little guy who knows right from wrong; I respond accordingly and just need someone to work with me. I will make a great family dog.
