Omani Bailey

Male (Altered) — Date of Birth: 06/01/2019 (5 years old (Adult))
Saluki Mix

I’m not your traditional Bailey’s Irish Cream, I’m the much more exotic Bailey’s Omani Cream!  I have a beautiful cream colored face, and I am ohhh-sooo-sweet! Bailey came to AFH from Oman, where street dogs like him are treated horribly.  He was lucky to be rescued and brought to the USA.  In Oman, these street dogs are called Wadi and are viewed as vermin.  Bailey is a Saluki mix, you can see it in his long legs and very slender, lean body.  Salukis are known as the Persian Greyhound and are thought to date back over 4,000 years.  Unlike Wadi dogs, purebred Salukis are treated as royalty and are the dogs of kings. Bailey is a pleaser – he is eager to learn and will give you all his attention. In return all he wants is some praise and petting.  He is learning very fast here in his foster home.  Bailey already knows “sit” and “stay” and “off”.  We are working on “go to your place”.  He willing goes into his crate for a treat, and he is doing great with his housebreaking.  Although he has only been in his foster home a short while, Bailey already follows me around like my shadow, and he loves when I sit on the floor with him.  He will crawl into my lap for some snuggling!  He’s a sweetheart and a joy to be around.  Bailey is approximately 40 lbs. and I expect he will get to about 60 lbs. when full-grown.  He is very playful and good with kids and other dogs.
