Omani Mini

Mini is a Saluki mix. She weighs about 15 pounds now and apparently fully grown could be 25 pounds.  Mini arrived from Oman. Recently she had an unfortunate accident and broke a bone in her rear leg, requiring surgery. She should be ready to go to her forever home by the end of April.  In the meantime, interested adopters may submit an application for her and may visit her toward the end of March at her foster’s home in Fairfax City,

Mini is a beautiful puppy and continues to adapt to her new surroundings.  She is gentle and affectionate, reserved but friendly once introduced to newcomers.  She loves being held, cuddling and having her ears and belly rubbed. She is crate trained and asks to go out to do her business.  Salukis are minimal shedding and have no doggie odor.  Before her accident she was learning to walk with a leash. She understands “no”, sit” and “down” and she LOVES to retrieve items. Despite her reserved demeanor, she is very playful and likes to rough house and gets very excited when she plays. She plays with all her toys, shaking and tossing them around. Like salukis, Mini is VERY fast and can spin on a dime.   

She needs patience and reassurance as she continues to adjust to our climate and her new home.
