Portia is very sweet.  When she arrived, she was very scared but has taken excellent care of her pups and is adapting to living with a family.  She has learned her name and is learning how to walk on a leash.  She does fine with other dogs in the house and with children.  She likes to go for walks and have her belly rubbed.  She has beautiful, trusting eyes.  When she arrived, her tail was always down and she would slink around with her head down.  In less than 2 weeks, she has started to become more confident and now wags her tail with joy.  She is loyal and will make an excellent companion for someone who is patient and calm and willing to make an extra effort at helping her adapt to living in a home.
