Lizzie

Female (Altered) — Date of Birth: 06/19/2009 (16 years old (Senior))
Beagle Mix
Lizzie is a precious girl who was rescued from a shelter in rural Virginia where she was certain to be put down, were it not for the wonderful AFH volunteers who rescued her. She had a litter of 5 puppies there, and 2 survived. They are Lulu and Lenny, and they are SO adorable! Lizzie is a gorgeous pure-bred beagle, but does not seem to know it! So far, she has not barked, and is not much of a digger, which is uncommon for beagles. She is on the small side, weighing only about 25 pounds, and is very kind and sweet-natured. She is completely housebroken and crate-trained, and loves nothing more than attention from her human friends. She enjoys being outside, but thrives on being cuddled on the couch too. She does well with other dogs, but needs to socialize with them more and learn her place in the pack. She seems fine with cats too. She does have the nose of a beagle, and loves to eat, so she needs to learn some manners at the dinner table! All of these things just add to her fun personality, and she would make a great family dog for anyone. She will be available for adoption when her puppies are weaned in mid-August, but can be visited at her foster's home when her puppies are 6 weeks old.
