Chihuahua Mix

Hi! My name is Lance and I am about a year old. I am a long haired black and tan Chihuahua mix. I have the classic color and dome type head of the Chihuahua, but I am not as dainty as most as I weigh nearly 13 pounds. I came from an animal shelter in West Virginia, and my foster mom believes I was in a good home prior. I am an all out friendly guy, who just about loves everyone. Anyone who will give me attention I will be their best friend forever. I would much rather prefer to be on a lap and get cuddling time than to play, but perhaps I might pick up on it later. I seem to love all types of dogs, big or small, but again when there is a lap I would rather be on it. I was not very good with my foster kitties at first, but I seem to be getting better now. My foster mom believes it was just that I have never seen a cat before and had no idea how to react. At this time we are not sure how I will do with very young children, but I just loved the attention I was getting from some neighborhood children above the age of 6. I do have a tendency to jump up a lot on people so being in a home with babies may not be a very good idea. If I am not already house trained, I will be real soon. Outside of some slight marking problems which should go away as soon as I am neutered; I have always held it until my foster mom lets me out. My foster mom has not quite figured out what my signal is yet, if you keep me on a schedule I will pick up on it. I do not seem to like my crate, but my foster mom is trying to teach me that it is an okay place. I whine when my foster mom leaves me alone, but I seem to do better if I can hear something in the background, such as a TV or radio. My foster mom has already noticed that I know the word sit, and probably a couple of other basic commands. I thrive on attention so I'm sure to pick up on more commands if someone takes the time to teach me. I do not require a lot of exercise, but a couple of walks a day will do a body good. If you are looking for a real sweet cuddle bug wanting to give kisses, a dog that already has had some sort of training, than I'm your man. I am sure to make a wonderful dog to just about any family.
