Sunny

Female (Altered) — Date of Birth: 01/06/1998 (27 years old (Senior))
Chihuahua Mix
I am fostering Sunny for a few days now and I want to tell you that she is an absolute doll! My husband and I fell in love with her almost instantly! If we did not have 2 other dogs already, we would have adopted the next day! She is doing great! I think her profile should read "Low maintenance dog with high return on companionship and affection"! She is very low maintenance and would be happy with a daily 3-minute walk to the end of the block (but she also happily endures our 1/2 hour in the park every morning and afternoon)! Sunny would be an awesome addition to a less active couple/family or senior person(s). She is a senior herself, very sweet, kissy little dog, who loves to dig herself under a blankie and go to sleep (making funny grunting noises). Give her a blanket... she'll get under it! Very cute! When she is awake and about, she has a spring in her step, very waggy and curious and smart! In a few minutes she mapped out the house (water, food, back yard, her crate, etc) and in a couple of days she had already settled into our routine. She loves to be held, but if she cannot be on your lap, she is happy to curl up somewhere warm and go to sleep. She barks very little (mostly after my other dogs start it, so I guess she has good reason). She walks around my feet when I am preparing her food and she grunts and snorts until she gets her dish. She eats it all, one more quick "bathroom" outing and she is good for another long nap. When we want to play, we pick her up and she showers us with kisses!! From her behavior, you cannot tell she is blind of one eye, because she gets along just fine. She is very good with other dogs. She is also totally house broken and will ask to go out and ask to come back in (some quick scratching on the door, but mostly with grunts and sneezes). Very cute and very polite! She has had several litters in the past, but now she is spayed and ready to be adopted into a loving, calm family. She is a wonderful, gentle little creature! Come see her at the adoption events. She is worth it!!
